The week of April 22nd celebrated the many talented artists in the RVIS community. Throughout the week students and staff dressed in their primary and secondary colors, and altered their appearance to resemble a famous artist from history. Of course, Arts Week would not be complete without a culminating art show and the annual RVIS’ Got Talent put on by the school’s very talented Art and Music Departments.

Riffa Views International School is dedicated to empowering students and encouraging them to contribute to the school environment. When Healthy Calorie approached the Art Department to develop a mural for the secondary cafeteria, Mrs. Meinen and Mrs. Yung naturally turned to the talents of the high school students to develop potential designs. Each design was to incorporate the values of Healthy Calorie and the branding of RVIS to represent the partnership between the two entities.

Last week on Wednesday, April 18th, the RVIS Badminton Team participated in it's last tournament of the year at St. Christopher's. Three boys and three girls were selected to represent the school in a mixed doubles competition. With over thirty talented and well-trained athletes, RVIS entered the competition with an uphill battle. Despite not having as strong of a tradition in the sport as the other schools, the students were not deterred.

The word “creativity,” in our society, tends to be applied to artistic endeavours. However, creativity is linked to divergent thinking skills and those are an essential part of everyday life, whether it’s navigating office politics or devising a new curriculum. Our job as parents and teachers is to help kids fulfill it.

Our Early Childhood program employs developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to teaching. It focuses on academics and social emotional growth. Throughout the program our team works hard to cultivate the inquisitive nature of children to encourage learning in all environments. The Nursery program at RVIS, offers the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia learning approach. The Nursery program is designed using an emergent curriculum where projects and themes are inspired by the children’s own interests.
 
 
Elementary
Elementary School
Offers an experiential curriculum that focuses on the development of the whole child through a wide-range of innovative teaching practices and activities. Teachers at RVIS also have a wide-range of teaching tools to enhance the learning for each student. We believe that children are motivated to learn when they experience success and develop their understanding. They make connections and build their learning around important concepts. In the elementary school student development is nurtured by highly trained, caring, passionate teachers and support staff.
 
 
Middle School
Middle School Curriculum
The RVIS middle school curriculum is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. It is based on challenging international standards and includes learning activities that create opportunities for students. The curriculum provides direction for what young adolescents should know and be able to do. It supports them to achieve the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full, productive, and satisfying life.
 
 
High School
High School Curriculum
Riffa Views International School is a College Preparatory school based on U.S. and International Standards. Starting in 9th grade, the students are introduced to a rigorous and supportive academic program. It begins to prepare them for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in their 11th and 12th grade years. As student wrap up their 10th grade year, they have the opportunity to select from three different graduating paths: a U.S. equivalent diploma, IBDP Certificate, or IBDP Diploma.
